- December 18 2006 - Controllux delivers Pearl 2008 to Purple Group.

The Pearl 2008 is a cosmetically updated Pearl 2004 with the addition of USB memory, giving storage for the complete set of personality files as well as multiple show files.

The Pearl 2008 software allows a USB connection between the Pearl and a PC, giving added functionality such as stage Visualisation.

- December 5 2006 - After a busy period with several Night of the Proms concerts, a number of business events, for Nationale Nederlanden and Adecco., concerts from Armin (Only) van Buuren in the Rotterdam Ahoy and Is Ook Schitterend (IOS) in Heineken Music Hall Amsterdam, it's now time for an update.

- November 29 2006 - We're there! The last d&b item is sold. An era has ended with the selling of the E3 speaker system. November 2005 Purple Group joined the Synco Network. Now, one year later, all d&b products are sold and replaced by Synco material.

LED Octostrip

Some LED light items added.
A new addition to the successful range of LED lighting is the LED Octostrip. It is a slim but highly decorative LED strip which can change colors due to its RGB LED's inside.

Armin van Buuren

- November 2 2006 - Armin van Buuren's 2006 mega event in the Rotterdam Ahoy is nearby.
Armin Only, same title as last year, won't be that different from last years edition. Guests will be a.o : Racoon, Jan Vayne and Ray Wilson. The theme of Armin Only 2006 is water, which will be reflected in the decor, visuals and show in ways that are nothing short of spectacular. The popular DJ stated: the event will most certainly not be switched on auto pilot. Surprise is the magic word on November 11. This year, 11 November also marks Armin’s 10th anniversary as a producer, which will be commemorated with the release of a ‘Best Of’ CD.

- November 1 2006 - We're there! The very last 9 d&b Max 15 wedges are for sale. An era is ending. Purple Group had Holland's largest stock in d&b equipment, only a year ago. After joining the Synco network, Purple Group immediately started buying Synco equipment. The Synco wedge has now replaced the d&b MAX.

Again a Yamaha M7CL was added to the consoles section. This console's popularity is still rising.

Thé Lau

October 25 2006 - The Scene's, former renown band in Holland and Belgium, front man and lead singer Thé Lau went solo a few years back. After 4 theatre shows in small settings, followed by a concert series with the orchestra ‘Prima la Musica’ in Vlaanderen (Belgium), it's time for his new show ‘Tempel der Liefde’ (Tempel of love). In 2005 Thé Lau met the young Pavadita string quartet.
They played some shows together and decided to make a CD ((Tempel der Liefde).
Jan-Peter Bast, working with Thé for many years , plays keyboard and piano.
The show: Thé Lau sings Thé Lau. New songs, old hits. A variety in orchestration: Solo with Jan-Peter - or with string quartet - or all together.  and...together with Purple Group.

Marco V...

October 19 2006 - Marco V is a successful DJ since the 90's.
The popular trance/techno dj is from Heeswijk-Dinther in Holland. He starts his career in "De Danssalon" in Eindhoven. He works with Benjamin Kuyten (alias Benjamin Bates). Uses the name T-Marc and creates together with producer Vincent Oostlander happy hardcore.

Their new CD will be presented that same evening.

Familiar songs, but also 'strange and funny' mixes and a lot of new material from their upcoming live show.

M.I.L.E 2006...

 Oktober15 2006 - M.I.L.E stands for Musical Instruments Live Event. This annual event takes place on Saturday October 28, from 12.00 till 19.00 hours and on Sunday October 29, from 11.00 till 18.00 hours, entrance: € 10,00.

For me?
On M.I.L.E. 2006 music makers, deejays, producers and studio engineers can be informed on everything about musical instruments. Distributors and manufactures present their latest products. Next to renowned manufactures there are some less known. From Fender to Vanderkley, from Line 6 to MCC Drums. Musical Instruments & Live Event (or M.I.L.E. that is) also presents shows, clinics and product demonstrations.

Purple Group will demonstrate Synco systems.

Midas Heritage pulling...

25 September 2006 - Right after a soccer match, a concert starts.
The only problem is: the front of house has to be removed, it can't stay on the field during the match. To make things a bit more complicated: it's a Midas Heritage H2000.
Strange?
Dutch band "Van Dik Hout" faced it last week in Sittard, the Netherlands.
Solution: Sound check before the game begins, get everything of the field. Afterwards put everything back on with a little help from John Deere.

90.000 visitors for Appelpop...

September 12 2006 - Appelpop's 15th edition was again a great success. This big event broke another visitors record. More than 90.000 people - 10.000 more than last year - enjoyed the 26 bands.
Racoon, Treble, After Forever, Sarah Bettens, Krezip, Within Temptation, The Shavers, Kraak & Smaak, and Nits were some of the names.

Di-rect daddy...

September 11 2006 - AMSTERDAM - Tim Akkerman, Di-rect's lead singer , and his girlfriend Stephanie are expecting. The couple will have their first baby in February 2007. Akkerman is very enthusiastic about the whole thing. "We're very happy", he stated. Earlier this year Tim and Stephanie announced to get married . The wedding is planned for July 7th of next year.

September 04 2006 - Yesterday, September 3, 2006, a Mercedes Ecoliner 1517, color: White (Dutch licenseplate: VL-24-XG) was stolen.

An audio set with a Renkus Heinz Synco touring system (STS) and a Midas XL200, a Yamaha MC3210M included with amps/eq/drive and FX rack.
Complete power cable, audio cable and microphone set plus a lighting set with a.o, VMB stands, RDD dimmers and a MA Lightcommander were in the truck.

The truck shows damage on right top corner, ( damage is painted black!)

Pater Moeskroen at Purple Group...

Augustus 24 2006 - Purple Group welcomes Pater Moeskroen.
More than twenty years the band Pater Moeskroen plays throughout Holland with a mix of folk, rock and humor.
NU! (NOW!) is the title for their upcoming show in Dutch theatres. Looking back at twenty years is good, better it is looking forward... Where's Pater Moeskroen NOW?... Together with director Dick Hauser they work hard on a new fantastic show. So: In a while: NU! together with Purple Group.

Ticket for Tibet...

August 24 2006 - This Festival's second edition takes place: Sunday August 27 .
Main aim of the Ticket for Tibet festival is to call attention for the suppression of Tibet and the extinction of her age-old culture.
Besides this attention the festival also wants to contribute to the situation in Tibet itself. A fixed amount of € 2,50 of each ticket sold will be used to finance a project for orphans in Tibet. All participants, from stage builders up to the organization cooperate on a non-profit basis. Possible proceeds will be spent to keep the Tibet-issue alive by means of future Ticket for Tibet activities.

A Siena 320 TP with 32 channels and a Siena 400 TP, the 40 channel version.
Siena's big advantage is: it's a front of house as well as a Monitor console.

Augustus 21 2006 - AMSTERDAM - Van Dik Hout singer: Martin Buitenhuis, is father for the second time. Last Friday Lisa was born.
37 years old Buitenhuis already had a daughter.
The Van Dik Hout management stated: Mother and daughter are doing well.

Augustus 3 2006 - The Art Company is currently recording a new cd: Oebele!

 The cd contains older songs from; Oebele, the early 70's TV show.

The best songs will be re-recorded and used for the show in Dutch theatres.

October 2006 the cd is available.

Purplegroup diving...

July 19 2006 - A power failure, Tuesday evening at an aircushion, was the cause of a d&b C7 top disappearing. The C7 took a dive into the river.
A colleague, who also happened to be a diver, was called, to help with some other divers. After a while the cabinet came out of the water.

More four days marches news...

After the cancellation of the 90th four days marches in Nijmegen, on July 18, the decision was made to continue the festivities. It will be less outrageous and each night at 20.00 h, one minute silence as a mark of respect will be practiced.

Wednesday evening, the Night of the Proms concert in Cuijk, with the orchestra "Vierdaagse orkest", will take place as planned.

Hind will perform Thursday July 20 at 20.00 h in the church "St. Stevenskerk" These church concerts are more and more visited over the years. Enjoying music and art and getting away from the hugeness of the festivities, elsewhere in the city.
Later that night Hind will also be on the Waalkade stage. Scheduled at 23.00 h.

The Boston Tea Party will perform this Friday, July 21, in the "Hertogstraat" at Café "Het Hoofdkantoor" (formerly known as: Gompie).
It will be the bands 20th anniversary gig at the festivities in Nijmegen.

The Bollox Blues Brothers will also appear in Nijmegen this Friday.

Looking back, we at Purple Group had a busy week in and around Nijmegen, with Di-Rect playing on Saturday at the Waalkade. VDH (Van Dik Hout) played the same stage on Sunday.
"Vierdaagse orkest" performed another Night of the Proms on Monday in Elst.

July 17 2006 - DanceValley 2006 was well visited. This weekender edition was a success.

Guus Meeuwis: true world cup party...

- June 12 2006 - EINDHOVEN - Guus Meeuwis performed his third show yesterday in front of 30.000 enthusiastic music lovers.

Screens

On two gigantic screens built next to the stage, people could watch the soccer game. "The first three points are ours", he yelled when he came on stage.

The singer started with some ballads. ended with his pop hits, including the new World Cup hit single for wich Ruud van Nistelrooij wrote the lyrics.
"Three amazing days. See you next year."

Di-rect singer marries...

- June 8 2006 -AMSTERDAM - Di-rect singer Tim Akkerman marries next year.

He and his girlfriend, Stephanie, have been together for a few years now. The exact date is to be announced.

Di-rect was founded in 1999 en scored hits like, Just the way I do, She en Blind for you.

 

 

Kane singer again father...

- June 8 2006 -AMSTERDAM - Dinand Woesthoff will become a dad for the second time. His girlfriend, British Lucy Hopkins, is pregnant. Dutch TV show "RTL Boulevard" came with this news yesterday. Up until now it's unknown when the baby will be born.

The 33-year old Kane singer, already has a son, Dean Maddy, together with actress Guusje Nederhorst. She died two hears ago of breast cancer.

Building in Philips Stadium...

June 7 2006 - Construction activities, for the Guus Meeuwis concerts in the Philips stadium Eindhoven, are in full progress.

Here in Schijndel, the first three trucks went to Eindhoven this morning at 8.30 h.

Sound check...
There still was an uncertain factor; The sound in this soccer stadium. Never before a concert was held in this place. Well, today we had our first sound check and Guus is happy. He stated: "It sounds already great when it's empty, so it can only get better".

Dad's rehearsing at Purple Group...

June 01 2006 - Guus Meeuwis became a third time Dad, this Wednesday. His son, named Teun, was born shortly after midnight, said his management.

Teun is in good health and his parents are: "very happy", so it's said on the singer's website. Their other children are Sarah and Pepijn.

The baby is born at a time where his Dad is very busy. Three concerts in the Philips Stadium in Eindhoven are coming up on June 9, 10 and 11. All three sold out.

Rehearsals are held and preparations are made at this time at Purple Group in Schijndel. We congratulate Guus and his family.

M7CL, W8LC...

June 1 2006 - Another Yamaha M7CL-48 in stock.

Since we became a member of the Synco network, our existing sound systems gradually made place for Synco systems.

The Renkus Heinz Synco Touring System has replaced the d&b audio systems, where JBL's Vertec line array as of now is replaced by W8L by Martin Audio.
In the last six month's, Vertec and W8L systems were used next to each other. Today we received the W8LC, at the same time we say goodbye to Vertec.

Festival weekend...

It's a true festival weekend, the first weekend of June.

The AJOC festival in Mijdrecht starts on Friday, so is the second edition of "De Drentse Daverdagen". The "Elastiek" festival in Hilvarenbeek, starts Saturday.

Di-Rect on the Amsterdam canals...

Di-rect played for "De week van het water" on a boat on the girdle of canals in Amsterdam. A citizen of the "Keizersgracht" made this video.

Several Dutch TV stations aired an item on this matter.
"RTV Noord Holland" aired this video (Real Player alert!).

Zwolle and Wageningen: 200.000...

The liberation festivals in Zwolle, and Wageningen had many visitors.
Zwolle counted 120.000 visitors, where liberation city Wageningen, according the police, welcomed 80.000 people.
Sound and light for 9 stages and 73 acts in in two cities, made it a busy day for Purple Group.

Purple Group welcomes Epica...

Dutch Gothic Metal band Epica has been welcomed at Purple Group. Guitarist Mark Jansen formerly known from rock band After Forever, started this band in 2003 and had immediate success.
A few records later and performing worldwide, they still go strong.

VCA certificate for employees...

A number of Purple Group employees recently received their VCA certificate.
This certificate stands for everything around safety at work.
Law and legislation, risks and accidents, dangerous goods, fires and explosions, machinery and tools, lifting, slip and falls, work on altitudes, electricity, personal protective equipment, were among the lessons to take.

SCHIJNDEL-Netherlands- Paaspop, Holland's traditional festival season opener, again welcomed more visitors in 2006. Two days of live music, dance and theatre were enjoyed by 15.000 people, despite a rain shower every now and then.

Saturday with performances of: Racoon, Peter Pan Speedrock and 'De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig' (Watskeburt) a.o.
Sunday were listed a.o : Van Dik Hout, De Dijk and Michel de Hey. Anouk was one of the closing acts.
"Paaspop doesn't mind a little rain'', said  C. Seijkens (organisation).

Spring 2006...

As mentioned before: Spring is in the air and that certainly goes for the artists. Everyone's busy and preparing for the new festival season.
Van Dik Hout kick off their Dutch tour on Paaspop in Schijndel.

Guus Meeuwis has ended his tour throughout the Dutch theatres and immediately went on  preparing for his other concerts and of course the 3 gigs in the PSV stadium in June 2006.

Within Temptation is also warming up. They will be fully equipped by Purple Group from now on.
A Grand MA plus a Yamaha M7CL-48 are packed to go on tour.

PSV champion in Dutch soccer league...

PSV has claimed the Dutch soccer championship.
Festivities in Eindhoven started right after the match.
Highlight was the ceremony in cityhall.
Police stated: 55.000 people visited the city.
Purple Group supported the event.

Carl Cox and friends in Ahoy...

Promoter UDC (Dance Valley, Impulz Festival, Strike One), presented the mega event: Carl Cox and friends.
Carls motto was: " My house is your house and your house is mine.".
The event took place on Saturday April 8, in Ahoy Rotterdam.
10.000 friends visited Carl Cox. On Sunday morning April 9 at 7.30 AM the Synco system produced it's last sound and everyone went home again.
Carl Cox will also be the host on the Global stage at Dance Valley, the weekender! On July 14 and 15, 2006.

Festivals...

Spring is in the air, which means the first festivals are coming.

Paaspop in Schijndel.

Traditional festival season opener.
Purple Group will provide light and sound for main stage, theater-, rock- and dance tent.
Synco line array on the main stage? Still working on it.
Synco wedges will prove their quality, that's for sure.
Paaspop 2006: April 15 and 16, Schijndel.

Liberation festivals.

Purple Group is heading to 'Zwolle' and 'Wageningen' on the 5th of May.
The festival in Zwolle is one of the largest in Holland. 35.000 visitors can be expected.
Some other locations in Zwolle, will also be in our hands that same day.

Purple will be again in Wageningen on 'de Markt' and 'Salvadaplein' (two stages), also in 'de Herenstraat'.

Trijntje on tour with Synco Wedge...

The first Synco CW152 wedges arrived and immediately part of it was already taken on tour with Trijntje Oosterhuis.

Trijntje, one of Hollands topvocalists, has lately been busy recording and promoting her new cd “See You As I Do”. Toots Thielemans, Candy Dulfer and the New Cool Collective, contributed on this cd.

The “See You As I Do” tour stated February 21 in Leeuwarden, a lot of venues throughout the Netherlands will follow. The tour ends on the 19th of april in Enschede.

Awards...

Within Temptation wins Export award and Guus Meeuwis a Golden Harp.
On Februari 6 both winners received their awards on the 'Harpen Gala' at 't Spant in Bussum.

Within Temptation recently won the Dutch Pop award 2005, and now, for the third time in a row, the 'Conamus Exportaward'.
This annual award goes to the best Dutch record selling artist, abroad.

 

Guus Meeuwis received, that same evening, his 'Gouden Harp' (Golden Harp) from Willem van Schijndel.
Brigitte Kaandorp and dj/producer Ferry Maat also were rewarded with a Harp.

PA sales Houten...

In 2006 Purple Group again will be a participant at the PA market in Houten (Utrecht).
Edition 10 will take place on March 25. Location, again is Euretco Expo Center in Houten.

Nol Havens...

In his 2005 tour he looked back on crazy times with the song 'Susanna'. A huge hit he had with The Art Company (VOF De Kunst). Currently he is touring with: The Art Company, Aart Staartjes, Lot Lohr, Erik van Muiswinkel and Loes Luca.

But, after a long period, being a musician for and with children, he returns to the grown ups with his firs solo album ‘Hoop’ (Hope), release date: February 17 2006 . ‘Hoop’ is a collaboration with 'Tilburg Rock academy students'.

Sjon & Esther...

A picture can tell a thousand words...A big mouthed character and Esther, a "woman", formed a duo.
He's known by his own TV shows and the band: "Lucky Lips". Where she's a true tuva in revue shows.
Finally they got together, it was meant to be.

He gave up his act with lucky lips and even sold his own company, just to be with Esther.
A hilarious act, with a brand new show.
Purple Group is delighted to support them and will try to keep a straight face and be professional.

Yamaha DM2000 on tour with Hind...

A new Yamaha DM 2000 has been added to the Purple Group range of consoles.
This 96 channel digital Yamaha has 6 graphic EQ's that are patchable to all busses. On the 8 output busses, or the 12
aux sends, the 4 stereo matrix busses or on the L/R bus.
The DM2000 was used on Dutch star singer Hind's theatre tour.

After fifteen years there will be a concert in the Philips Stadium in Eindhoven. Back then Eros Ramazotti performed, June 10  Guus Meeuwis, a huge PSV fan, will bring a show. He confirmed doing at least one show next year in the PSV stadium. His current tour throughout the Dutch theaters ends April 13 in Tilburg. All theatre shows are sold out and this is a chance for the fans who missed out.

Van Dik Hout....

Purple Group welcomes 'Van Dik Hout'. Their first performance after a sabbatical year was December 30 2005 in Paradiso, Amsterdam. A new in-ear Shure system and their own monitor mixer is supplied for their 2006 tour.

Lijn 7....

January 2006 Purple Group became the rental company for the party band : 'Lijn 7'.

They've proven for years to be a perfect band for a variety of parties, bars and festivals. Purple Group invested in a Yamaha O2R for front of house mixing.
